MediaConsortium Unveils Powerhouse Panel for 2026 Conference and Awards
Brands & Marketing
As changing economic dynamics and rapid digital adoption continue to reshape purchasing behavior across Africa, leading strategy and marketing experts are set to converge in Lagos to explore the changing power balance between brands and buyers.

The conversation will take center stage at the upcoming MediaConsortium Annual Conference & Awards, where a high-level panel of industry figures will analyze the operational, digital, and communication adjustments required to remain competitive in today’s rapidly evolving market.

Centering on the core theme, “The Value Shift: Strategies for the New Market Reality in the Age of the Empowered Consumer,” the panel discussion will provide business executives, corporate strategists, media practitioners, and entrepreneurs with actionable frameworks for maintaining brand relevance and consumer trust.
The panel features a carefully selected group of executive practitioners representing key sectors of the economy, including financial services, sustainability, media, and digital strategy. Among the confirmed panelists are: Adewole Lawal, Group Sustainability Lead at Evercorp Industries, who will offer critical perspectives on long-term value creation, sustainable business models, and corporate responsibility in response to heightened consumer scrutiny.

Olusesan Ogunyooye, Head of Marketing at AXA Mansard, who will address shifting consumer expectations within the risk and financial services ecosystem, emphasizing modern engagement strategies built on transparency and trust.

Okey Umurhowho, Director of Marketing at StarTimes, who will examine the evolving media and entertainment landscape, focusing on subscriber retention, content accessibility, and value delivery in competitive markets. I inluding Mrs. Olabisi Shonibare, Director of Partnership, Grant Management and Innovations, LASEPA who will add her experience to the discussion.

Speaking ahead of the event, the organizers highlighted the critical importance of bringing together diverse sector leaders to dissect the modern marketplace from a practical, panel-driven perspective.

”Today’s consumer is more informed, discerning, and vocal than at any point in modern market history,” the organizers stated. “It is no longer enough for brands to rely on traditional, one-way messaging. The shift in value requires corporate leaders to rethink their engagement models, align with authentic consumer priorities, and build resilient operational frameworks. Our distinguished panelists bring decades of combined frontline experience across critical sectors, making this interactive session an absolute necessity for forward-thinking business executives.”

The interactive panel will build upon insights shared during the keynote address, which will be delivered by Dr. Bolajoko Bayo-Ajayi, President of the National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria (NIMN). Femi Opadere, Head of Digital at Glo, will also share perspective as the Guest Speaker, outlining digital-first approaches to consumer engagement.

The formal presentation of awards honoring exceptional brand leadership, institutional excellence, and strategic innovation will take place during the event, scheduled as follows: Friday, September 18, 2026 at Lagos Chambers of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos State 10:00 AM Prompt.

The gathering will serve as a premier networking platform, uniting top business leaders, creative innovators, policymakers, and brand custodians committed to navigating the future of commerce in Nigeria and beyond.
