Call for Applications: Federal Government Digital Training Academy 2026 for 32,000 Nigerians

The Federal Government of Nigeria has opened applications for the 2026 Digital Training Academy (DTA), a fully sponsored skills development programme designed to equip 32,000 Nigerians with digital and professional skills for the modern economy.

The programme is being implemented under the Federal Government’s National Skilling Project in partnership with Coursera, providing selected participants with free access to relevant online learning programmes. The DTA portal opened on August 17, 2026.

What the Digital Training Academy Offers

Successful participants will receive access to training in more than 10 high-demand digital and technology fields, including:

  • Software Development
  • Cloud Technologies
  • Cybersecurity
  • Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning
  • IT Automation
  • FinTech
  • Connected Technologies
  • Parallel Computing
  • Quantum Computing
  • Natural Language Processing (NLP)

The programme also provides structured learning pathways, pre-assessment, access to Coursera learning resources and certificates upon successful completion of applicable programme requirements.

For Nigerians who may not have access to personal computers or reliable internet connectivity, designated training centres will provide internet access and learning devices to support participation.

Who Can Apply?

The programme is open to Nigerian citizens aged 18 and above, including students, job seekers and working professionals interested in developing digital skills.

Applicants will need:

  • A valid National Identification Number (NIN)
  • An active phone number
  • Basic information about their education and work background
  • Information about their career interests and goals

Applicants do not necessarily need advanced knowledge of their preferred field. A pre-assessment will be used to determine their current skill level and appropriate learning pathway.

Interested applicants can apply through the official Digital Training Academy portal.

Step 1: Create an account using your NIN and phone number.

Step 2: Complete your profile with your personal, education and work information.

Step 3: Select your preferred learning track.
