As the global business landscape shifts from a pure profit-driven motive toward a more holistic, purpose-led approach, all eyes are on the Lagos Chambers of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) in Alausa, Ikeja. Next Friday, May 15, 2026, MediaConsortium will host the second edition of its highly anticipated CSR Impact and Excellence Conference and Awards.

Themed “Beyond Profit: Redefining Success Through CSR and Sustainability,” the 2026 conference aims to challenge Nigerian organizations to look past their balance sheets and evaluate their impact on environmental stewardship, community development, and ethical governance.

The event, organized by MediaConsortium, a premier brands, business, and marketing publication, is set to feature a powerhouse of speakers. Leading the conversation this year are renowned Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) experts Tosin Leye-Odeyemi and Adewole Lawal. Both veterans bring decades of experience in the sustainability space and are expected to deliver keynote papers that will serve as the foundation for the day’s high-level panel discussions.

According to organisers of the event, the selection of this year’s speakers was intentional. “We are at a crossroads where CSR is no longer an optional corporate gesture but a strategic pillar. Our speakers will dissect how businesses can embed ethics and long-term sustainability into their core operations to meet the demands of modern consumers and regulators,” the organisers stated.

A major highlight of the day will be the CSR Impact and Excellence Awards, a ceremony dedicated to honoring organizations and individuals who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to social and environmental causes over the past year.

Building on the success of the maiden edition, which saw industry giants like Sifax Group, PZ Wilmar, Seplat, and Stanbic IBTC take home honors for community development and environmental stewardship, this year’s awards are expected to be even more competitive. Categories will recognize innovation in:

Renewable Energy Initiatives

Sustainable Business Development

Organic Farming and Food Security

Excellence in Wellness and Community Health.

The 2026 conference comes at a time when Nigeria faces unique socio-economic hurdles. As the organisers noted, the goal is to move the needle from “corporate philanthropy” to “strategic CSR.” By highlighting success stories, the conference provides a roadmap for SMEs and conglomerates alike to achieve competitive advantages through authentic social impact.

With a mix of industry leaders, sustainability professionals, academics, and the media in attendance, next Friday’s event promises to be a pivotal moment for the Nigerian corporate community.
