Bola Tinubu

A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and Nigerian lawyer, Barrister Kalu Kalu, has submitted a formal petition against President Bola Tinubu to the European Commission in Brussels.

The petition centers around allegations of certificate forgery, a historic $460,000 forfeiture linked to a U.S. narcotics case, and the subversion of Nigeria’s  constitutional democracy.

Corporate & Financial Crime

Kalu submitted the petition on Friday in Brussels, claiming that Tinubu has bypassed constitutional requirements by submitting forged academic credentials to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the 2027 general elections.

According to him, Tinubu failed to disclose his primary and secondary school history, thereby violating Sections 137 of the 1999 Nigeria’s  Constitution as amended.

“Good afternoon to the whole world. I am here at the European Commission to submit a petition to the European Union concerning the subversion of constitutional order in Nigeria, where President Bola Tinubu has suspended the constitutional order in Nigeria.

Africans & Diaspora

“He did this because of his forged academic credentials, where he submitted to INEC for the 2027 general elections, and he did not state the primary school and the secondary school he attended in flagrant violation of the 1999 Constitution of the Fair Republic of Nigeria, particularly in Section 137.

“The Section says if you have presented a false certificate to INEC, you will not be qualified to run in the election.

Nigerian news updates

“And he has submitted false documents, false certificates to INEC that made him not qualified to run for the 2027 general elections.

“Because they have captured all the power in Nigeria, he has imposed himself on Nigeria, thereby subverting the provisions of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” Kalu said.

By presenting the document directly to the European Commission in Brussels, Kalu intends to prompt international scrutiny from the European Union over what he deems a threat to Nigeria’s constitutional order and democratic stability.
