FCMB Group Plc has appointed Adepeju Adebajo as an independent non-executive director as part of efforts to reinforce its leadership team and support its long-term expansion plans.

The financial services group disclosed that the appointment has secured approval from the Central Bank of Nigeria and comes at a time when the institution is intensifying its footprint within Nigeria’s rapidly changing financial services landscape.

In a statement issued by the Group, FCMB said Adebajo brings over 30 years of leadership experience across several sectors, including finance, agriculture, renewable energy, and management consulting. The company noted that her expertise would support its ambition to drive innovation, improve operational performance, and sustain long-term business growth.

According to the Board, her background in corporate transformation, strategic management, and Environmental, Social and Governance implementation aligns with FCMB Group’s vision of building a stronger and future-focused financial institution.

Over the course of her career, Adebajo has occupied senior management positions in major organisations such as Lafarge Africa, Lumos Nigeria, and Mouka Limited.

She also served as Commissioner for Agriculture in Ogun State, where she led programmes designed to boost agricultural investment and enhance productivity within the sector.

Her educational background includes executive programmes at Harvard Business School and Imperial College London, reflecting her broad experience in corporate leadership and governance.

The appointment highlights FCMB Group’s continued focus on strengthening its governance structure and positioning the organisation for sustained growth as Nigerian financial institutions adapt to ongoing regulatory and capital reforms in the banking industry.
