NAFDAC DG, regulators to lead discussions at 2026 World Consumer Rights Day

Prof. Mojisola Christianah Adeyeye, the Director General of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), is set to deliver a keynote paper at the 2026 World Consumer Rights Day (WCRD) event on March 13.

The event will also feature prominent officials from the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) and the Standard Organisation of Nigeria (SON), as well as renowned consumer rights advocate Mrs. Sola Salako-Ajulo, all of whom are expected to share insights on consumer protection and safety.

WCRD, celebrated globally every year on March 15, aims to raise awareness of consumer rights and highlight issues affecting consumers worldwide. The theme for the 2026 celebration is: “Safe Product, Confident Consumer.”

Organised by the Brand Journalists Association of Nigeria (BJAN), the event will take place at the Ososa factory of Rite Foods Limited in Ogun State.

BJAN Chairman, Daniel Obi, explained that the initiative is designed to foster robust discussions among regulators, industry stakeholders, and consumers, ultimately enhancing consumer confidence through the promotion of safe product usage.
