Nigerians have flooded social media with mixed reactions following human rights activist, Omoyele Sowore’s revelation of a luxury hotel in Port Harcourt, allegedly linked to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike.

‎In a video shared on Facebook, Sowore unveiled “JS Signature Hotels,” an exquisite hospitality facility he claimed was one of Wike’s vast property empire.

‎The footage, which quickly went viral, generated heated debate online, with many Nigerians accusing the minister of corruption and reckless acquisition of wealth.

‎Some commentators alleged that Wike had taken control of vast estates in Port Harcourt, while others mocked the scale of his alleged holdings.

‎@Ojediran Gbega wrote: “He has the best estate in Port Harcourt at Adah George.” While@Jagaban Azazelic added: “He has the whole of Ada George. You say best estate? No be Wike wey buy half of Ada George when him bin wan commot.”

‎Others took a more sarcastic tone. @Samuel Tore quipped: “Abi na Wike house for US be this.” Similarly, @Kelly Kency described it as: “Wike the Big criminal Hotel.”

‎Some Nigerians lamented the failure of anti-graft institutions to act on such allegations. @Bright Sammy commented: “EFCC is just useless to Nigerians.”

‎Meanwhile, @Linda Ogolo alleged: “He also has the super stores called Hyper City.”

‎Beyond criticism, some hailed Sowore’s boldness in exposing the political elite. @Sesan Olajide remarked: “Even though he is not perfect, if the youths of this country are mindful of their future, they have Sowore, a fearless radical that has demonstrated the audacity and capacity to expose and confront our corrupt and inept leaders.”

‎The revelations come at a time when Wike is under fire in Abuja for allegedly victimizing landowners in disputes over property deeds, further stoking anger about his reported property acquisitions.

‎ The outrage also coincided with worsening economic hardship across Nigeria, where citizens continue to struggle with inflation, high living costs, and dwindling incomes.

‎OSUN DEFENDER reports that the latest expose follows Sowore’s earlier allegation that Wike laundered money in the United States, where he allegedly concealed ownership of multi-million-dollar properties in Florida under the names of his wife and children — an act Sowore claimed violates several U.S. state laws.

‎As reactions continue to pour in, questions remain on whether law enforcement agencies will investigate the growing list of corruption allegations tied to the minister.
